2013-14 Season In Review: Zenon Konopka

A look back at the half season from our former fourth line center, Zenon Konopka.

Stats

Minnesota (NHL): 36 GP, 1 G, 1 A, 2 P, 55 PIM
Buffalo (NHL): 23 GP, 0 G, 1 A, 1 P, 33 PIM

Review

Konopka began the season in the same role he played last year, as a fourth liner. He was efficient in the faceoff circle, but beyond that he did little to contribute to the team. The team waived him following their December 27th game against Winnipeg, and he was picked up by Buffalo where he played the remainder of the season. In a season and a half for the Wild, Konopka registered one goal, one assist, and had 172 penalty minutes.

Highlights

Status for 2014-15

Konopka is a UFA at the end of this year. The Wild will not be looking to re-sign him. Maybe he can land in Buffalo for another season...
